That is a semi auto. He said space is allowed for aftermarket autosear's, which as you can see it does not have an auto sear currently (they stick out of the back on the read of the glock slide other than the original G18C). Also, yes, it would have to be a registered SBR. That said, I WANT ONE BAD.

now, this is cool as hell, but the problem with this is that it is literally a concealed weapon with just being in your hand. How easy it was to transform that flashlight into a gun was so easy.. You could carry this around and no one would know what it was. You could carry it in stores and no one would suspect. Or something similar. Of course, you'd get freaked out by something when you're taking out the trash and pull this out, some neighbor sees you pointing it at stuff and gets on your ass.

Yeah, both the stock and its concealability necessitate registering it with the Feds (it's illegal to have a gun that masquerades as something else without registering it). This is why we need to roll back the 1986 machine gun ban. I wouldn't mind having something like that.

Of course, it's either a full automatic manufactured after the Schumer-introduced and enacted 1986 ban on registering newly manufactured machine guns or else it's a shoulder-stocked pistol, aka short-barreled rifle. The first is completely outlawed for civilian ownership. The second requires registration with and payment of a transfer tax to BATFE along with a background check and the permission of one's local law enforcement agencies and state of residence.

Magpul showed us the prototype of the FMG - 9, but it wasn't there idea. This video is taken from Robocop 2, released in 1990. It shows the Ares FMG, Magpul just copied it, using Glockparts The only thw differences are, that the original used Mac10 mags and Magpuls version had a flashlight.

@recontigulas You can buy one if you're willing to submit to the NICS background check and pay up the $200 tax stamp (and some cases, an LEO signoff notice needed) for the G17-based model. For the one with the happy switch (full auto), that's an NFA item. If it's the FMG9, you're out of luck - it's only available to mil/LEO or you're a manufacturer. If it's the Ares - make sure it's made before May 1986 and be sure to have ENOUGH money to pay for it. Questions? Ask the BATFE. They have it. :D

I always thought that was a cool setup when I first saw the movie. I just wanted one. Now that magpul is making it, I still want one. Alas, I think it'll be illegal for the average joe to buy one... Although if they moved the mechanism back further and installed a longer barrel it could have greater accuracy than the standard glock. Or not.
